Ummi is our Associate in the Corporate and Commercial Practice Group.
Ummi studied at Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif ‘Ali (UNISSA) and graduated in 2020 with an Upper Second-Class Honours in Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Bachelor of Shariah Laws (BSL).
Whilst completing her Double Degree, Ummi interned at the State Judiciary Department of Brunei Darussalam in 2019 for several months observing and assisting in civil and criminal matters, research in bankruptcy and probate office matters under the supervision of one of the Senior Registrars of the Supreme Court of Brunei Darussalam.
Ummi completed her pupillage at HLR Law in 2021 and briefly interned at a Government-Linked company where she assisted the legal counsel in drafting and summarising legal documents. She was then admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Brunei Darussalam in April 2022.
Ummi was also admitted as a Syar’ie Lawyer in the Syariah Courts of Brunei Darussalam and has obtained the Syar’ie Lawyer Certificate in September 2022.
Since joining the firm in August 2023, she has been assisting in litigation and corporate secretarial matters.
