Charles is an Of Counsel in the Litigation and Dispute Management and Restructuring and Insolvency team in the Singapore office and also works together with the Construction and Engineering team.
His experience encompasses a diverse spectrum of commercial disputes and contractual claims. He regularly advises and acts for parties in the business of real estate management in respect of issues relating to defects liability, leasehold agreements, and debt recovery. He also acts for banks in respect of insolvency proceedings.
In terms of construction-related disputes, Charles has successfully acted as lead counsel in an adjudication under the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act.
Charles’ experience also includes advising both companies and individuals on sensitive white collar litigation.
More recently, he acted as co counsel to successfully defend a commercial landlord at trial and on appeal against a claim for wrongful termination of lease. He also acted as co-counsel in an employment dispute concerning restraint of trade and allegations of misuse of confidential information.
Charles is a member of the Law Society of Singapore and Singapore Academy of Law. He was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2015.
