Moiz Tyebally is a Consultant in our Real Estate practice group. He advises clients on property developments and associated funding, documentation and regulatory considerations with particular emphasis on Syariah compliant issues. In addition to real estate practice group, Moiz also advises on matrimonial and family law matters, including Syariah divorces.
His experience includes advising on a key cross-border deal, lending his expertise to the Kuwait Finance House from Malaysia on a Syariah compliant structure (Ijara wa Murabaha) for a S$10 million loan facility to a Singapore entity. He was a key player in advising First Gulf Bank from Doha on their operational entry in Singapore, preparing all necessary applications for letters of credit, trust receipts, shipping guarantees, opening of accounts by customers, individuals and corporates. He also advised Unicorn Investment Bank (Bahrain) regarding the legal and regulatory framework of Wakaf properties in Singapore and worked closely with a prominent Muslim property developer in a joint venture project with Muslim investors and Trustees of a wakaf property under a diminishing musharakah structure.
Before joining the firm, Moiz was a Director of Corporate Affairs/Company Secretary for Raffles Medical Group Ltd and Chief Trader at ITC Global Holdings Pte Ltd.
His current memberships in a multitude of societies and committees include: Board of Governors, Madrassah Irsyad; Treasurer, Masjid Abdul Aleem Management Committee; VP Finance, Muslim Converts Association of Singapore; and Mediator, Family Court (Syariah Cases).
Moiz is particularly active in a number of public service and community-based outreach initiatives, including those concerned with education, family matters and anti-drug/drug rehabilitation programmes, and has been appointed as a Justice of the Peace.
Moiz was awarded the Public Service Medal (PBM) in November 2014 for his contribution to the community.
