As part of the Construction and Engineering group, Laila has advised and acted on behalf of project owners, contractors, architects, the authorities, and insurers in various construction-related disputes. She has also assisted on front-end matters such as the review and drafting of construction and engineering contracts, consultancy agreements, maintenance agreements, and service agreements.

Laila graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2010 and was called to the Singapore Bar in 2011. A recipient of the Singapore Academy of Law Overseas Attachment Award, Laila had undertaken a work attachment with Blackstone Chambers in London where she assisted in matters led by Queen's Counsel and other leading barristers.
