Now in its second year, the Harry Elias Partnership LLP National Law Debates is the most rigourous debating tournament on the local debate circuit today.
Mirroring actual court proceedings and the rigours of civil litigation, student debaters are required to prepare written submissions supported by substantive research and argue their cases not just against their opponents but also answer probing questions from judges. These features will significantly enhance the level of interaction and excitement in the Tournament and expose student debaters to some of the real-life challenges that litigation lawyers face in Court.
Through this Tournament, Harry Elias Partnership LLP aims to generate in students awareness and understanding of legal issues and the importance of thorough research, so as to make persuasive and compelling arguments backed by relevant evidence.
