Webinar Invitation: Mandatory Data Breach Reporting- Legal and Technical Considerations under the Proposed Amendments to the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA), 17 July 2020
06 Jul 2020

The Singapore Ministry of Communications and Information (MCI) and the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) in Singapore recently proposed a series of amendments to ensure that it keeps pace with regulatory developments in personal data protection. Amongst the many proposed changes is the mandatory requirement to report certain types of data breaches to the PDPC.

Proposed Mandatory Data Breach Reporting: Legal & Technical Considerations

Harry Elias Partnership LLP and FTI Consulting will be holding a webinar to discuss the proposed mandatory data breach reporting requirement in depth. The webinar will explore the following areas:

  • The legal conditions to be fulfilled before a data breach is considered to be notifiable to PDPC;
  • The information to be included in the notification;
  • The role of technical assessment in the reporting decision;
  • The anatomy of an attack and post attack recovery;
  • Specific sectoral reporting requirements applicable to Singapore; and
  • The difference between the reporting requirements under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the proposed amendments.
