Harry’s most enduring legacy was perhaps his founding of the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme to help the less fortunate obtain free criminal defence. In 2015, the CLAS Fellowship was formed to train passionate young lawyers to defend vulnerable accused persons. A fundraising page has been set up for the “Harry Elias SC CLAS Fellowship Fund”.
