COVID 19 introduces new ways of working whether it is an SME or a global MNC with the impact on the emotional well -being of staff “as work in progress so to speak”. This seminar will address the following arising from the situation of Working from Home (WFH).

The guest speaker is Dr. Cherie Chan who is the current President of the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) and a registered Clinical Psychologist and Supervisor with the Singapore Register of Psychologist (SRP). SPS was founded in 1979 and has its aims to advance psychology as a science and profession in Singapore. SPS also maintains the Singapore Register of Psychologists (SRP), which is an official register of psychologists in Singapore.
The seminar will be chaired by K. K. Lim, Of Counsel from Harry Elias Partnership LLP who graduated in psychology from the University of Texas at Austin before attending law school.

KK heads the firm’s Cybersecurity, Privacy and Data Protection Practice Group. He has more than 25 years of experience in technology advisory and commercial matters, with a focus in representing clients and advising matters involving privacy and data protection, cybersecurity, mobile security, audit, and compliance advisory. He is an alumnus of the University of Texas, at Austin, Monash Law School, Australia, Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore, and a Certified Information Security Manager. He is the Chairman of the Cybersecurity and Data Protection Committee of the Law Society of Singapore (2017 to 2019) and current Co-Chair, an Adjunct Faculty member of The Institute of Systems Science (NUS) and Singapore Institute of Technology, and a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) (UK) and Assistant Secretary of CMI Singapore Chapter (2020).

Dr. Cherie Chan

Dr. Cherie Chan graduated with a Bachelor of Social Sciences from the National University of Singapore and holds a Doctor of Psychology degree in Clinical Psychology from Murdoch University (Western Australia). Cherie currently practices at a private practice – Thrive Family and works extensively with adolescents and adults presenting with a range of psychological issues. Cherie’s involvement with SPS started in 2015 in her previous role as the Publicity Chair where she revamped the SPS website and helped with effective dissemination of information to all members. She continues to serve with SPS this term in a new role and hopes to continue supporting the growth of the society, building professionalism, and making an impact on society. Outside of clinical work, Cherie holds various professional appointments. She is the current Secretary for the Asia Pacific Psychology Alliance (APPA) and represents psychologists in Singapore as a member of the ASEAN Regional Union of Psychology Societies (ARUPS). Away from work, Cherie is always up for a good cup of coffee and enjoys seeking out new places while photographing her food-hunting adventures.
